NARRATIVE PROJECTS
OCCUPIED
OCCUPIED is a psycho thriller film set in the redwoods above Silicon Valley. When free spirit Sarah goes to babysit her young cousin, it becomes clear that the dangers lurking outside the cabin pale in comparison to the perils inside. Triggered by unwelcome visitors, a psychotic break shatters the weekend.

“Occupied illuminates the unknown territory of mental illness we are all seeking to understand. We question, "How do families, communities, and policies change to create a safe environment for us all?" "How do we intervene?" We are at the threshold of making new decisions to change our culture, to direct the conversation of mental illness, leading to safe solutions. Occupied is a beautiful, gripping film of one young adult experiencing the initial vagaries of mental illness at the onset of schizophrenia. It is incumbent for all to participate in efforts to understand mental illness, to walk from fear to security and safety.” Susan S. RN
